Are you passionate about giving young children the best possible start in life? At Preston Primary School we are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Nurse to join our team. At Preston Primary we nurture children aged 4 and above in a warm, stimulating environment where they can grow, explore and shine. We are seeking someone who brings energy, compassion and a genuine love of early years education to our setting

We pride ourselves on being the school that ‘sparks curiosity’ and have high expectations of our children and staff. The role of the nursery nurse will be to support the learning and development of children aged 4+, creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment. You will work closely with families and colleagues to support each child'’s progress and assisting with planning and delivering a rich, play based curriculum

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to join a small, friendly and supportive team.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please contact Julie Ness or Allison Hodgson in the school office to arrange an appointment.

Reading Volunteers

Would you like to spread the joy of reading?

Following our parent forum meeting on reading before Christmas, we would like to open up the opportunity for parents (or grandparents) who have a little time to spare each week to become reading volunteers at school.

Reading is such an important skill and reading regularly with an adult is one of the best ways of encouraging and helping children to progress. Sadly, increasing numbers of children do not have an adult at home who reads with them and so we would like to increase the opportunities for children to have this experience at school.

If you have a little time to spare each week and would be interested in helping our children in this way then please download an application form below. Because this role involves working with children, you will need to have a DBS check (school will meet the cost of this) and provide a couple of references. This is to ensure that all our children are kept safe.

If you are interested then please fill in the application and of course do send a message or come and have a chat with us if you have any questions.
